Nearly a good story
Thursday night saw a £50 tournament at the Loose Cannon - with four players remaining myself and Sonny were the short stacks. Sonny shoves on the button for 4400 with blinds at 200-400 and I call in the BB with AT. Unfortunately Sonny’s 95 beats me and I am left with 100 dead. One chip.
Following an unlikely sequence of flushes, straights and trips I suddenly spin up to 3200 after winning 5 hands in a row. However, blinds have now risen to 300-600 so I still need one more double up to be a factor in the tournament, and my shove with K2 on the button is beaten by Sonny in the BB, ironically with AT. Oh well - close to a good chip and a chair story, but not to be.
A long cash game follows, and I leave £250 to the good, with Honest Dave smashing the table up for what must have been a £700+ win.
Home game starts in a few hours today - I’ll blog reports of those tournaments and update my P&L after that…
